We are looking to hire a Subsurface Manager on a permanent basis, based out of our head office in Chiswick, London.


The Jubilee Subsurface Manager is responsible for subsurface Value identification and Creation in the Jubilee Unit Area, by maximizing long term oil and gas recovery within license and maintaining high effective well capacity to support production.


The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible For

  • Responsible jointly with the Well Reservoir & Facility Management Manager to identify and review subsurface production opportunities while ensuring prudent well & reservoir management to preserve long term value from the reservoir
  • Development of a robust understanding of the reservoir and geological development of the field inclusive of near field accumulations 
  • Responsible for evaluating, proposing and executing reservoir surveillance techniques to reduce risks and uncertainties
  • Development of a suite of 3-D models to investigate, understand and quantify long term field potential, including history matching and forecasting using both probabilistic and deterministic methodologies
  • Reserves and resource maturation through identification and maturation of infill wells to enable delivery of the Technical Limit Recovery Factor 
  • Responsible for managing and quantifying levels of uncertainty in LOF behaviour and reserves and resource ranges
  • Responsible for delivery of long term forecasts (inclusive of WP&B forecasts) to demonstrate LOF value ranges and for use in business planning. 
  • Responsible for delivering the subsurface aspects of the Jubilee work program and activity sets driving internal budget definition at the start of each year, in accordance with priorities set by Ghana BU scorecard
  • Maturing well targets and necessary documentation to support well engineering in timely delivery of new wells 
  • Responsible for people development needs, planning and target setting for each team member, monitoring and managing individuals’ performance



You will be a graduate in Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience or other relevant first degree in engineering or science coupled with relevant industry experience, and be able to demonstrate experience in the following areas:

  • Demonstrable track record of broad subsurface experience at various stages of the E&P lifecycle, in-particular experience in operated producing assets
  • Extensive technical knowledge and working experience in either reservoir engineering or production geoscience skillpool, in capacity of Lead or Principal Technical Staff
  • Demonstrable project management experience, particularly in managing integrated subsurface teams and delivery of multidisciplinary subsurface workflows, processes and project work
  • Experience of international environments, mindful of cultural differences and ways of working
